Meet Our Founder
Lifesavers Healing Together founder Sharon Brzozowski, is an Army Reservist, Military Police Investigator, Disabled Combat Veteran, and former Municipal Police Officer. Prior to Sharon’s Military/Law Enforcement service she spent many years in the culinary industry either working as a Chef, Event Planner, or Manager. In addition, Sharon spent many years honing her creative side musically as a vocalist, writer, composer and artist.
Through her dedicated studies, Sharon discovered methods and techniques to decompress from the stress of the Military service, and her deployment to Iraq with the Army as a Military Police Investigator conducting investigations. One method was becoming a accredited Vinyasa Yoga and Samatha Meditation teacher. Her classes range from restorative, basic Vinyasa, to Power Vinyasa Flow. All concentrating on breath, alignment and mindful sequencing. She is certified at the 200 Hr Level RYT– through Kaia Yoga/Yoga Alliance. Sharon most recently trained with Cyndi Lee of OM Yoga, Yoga Goodness Studios in Lynchburg, Virginia, for an additional 300 Hours, Sharon has completed 200 hours of that instruction for a total of 400 Hours. Additionally, she is American Red Cross certified in First Aid, CPR and AED. Sharon has received her personal trainers certification and diploma with National Personal Trainers Institute in Norwalk, CT for 500 Hours of coursework in Personal Training, which includes 100 Hours of Nutritional training. She is working towards her certification with the National Federation of Personal Trainers. Sharon has also received a Keiser M3 Indoor Cycling Instructor Certification.
Sharon’s military accomplishments and civilian work experience have given her strong leadership, effective communication and analytical problem solving skills. She has learned the importance of integrity and taking action. Sharon has been awarded two Military/Veterans scholarships at UCONN/Stamford during her studies at the University and awarded “The Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal” while serving with the U.S. Army Reserves.
Sharon started “Yoga for Veterans” at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, a pilot program that provided veterans, military members and faculty an opportunity to participate in yoga classes at no cost. Instructors from Kaia Yoga and Wellness in Westport, CT assisted by volunteering to teach the classes two to three times a week. Sharon was able to receive donated yoga mats for the participants as well. The pilot program ran for over twelve months. Sharon worked to introduce the program at the UCONN Stamford Campus, where she was enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student.
Sharon led a weekly yoga and meditation classes on a volunteer basis at the Danbury Veterans Center, Danbury, Connecticut for approximately twelve months, and continues to lead volunteer programs throughout the community. Her patience, compassion, and safety awareness have been key components to her success in this environment. Her Military background, and first hand experience as an Iraq war veteran, witnessing the damage done to the body and the psyche of her fellow service men and women has motivated her to create Lifesavers Healing Together, Inc. Lifesavers Healing Together, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization, with the mission of assisting veterans, military, law enforcement, first responders, and their dependents by providing free wellness services.
